I am a general surgeon in private practice in Houston, Texas. I was born and educated in Argentina, a beautiful country at the tip of South America. I came with my family to Houston as a fully trained surgeon in 1980.

In 1982 I obtained my Texas medical license, and soon became involved in the field of surgery for severe obesity. I authored five book chapters and many medical articles on this subject. I am a founding member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS), formed in 1983, and had the privilege of being on the society’s Executive Council for three years and Committee Chair for several years.

My philosophy and ethics of care are based on the strong Christian and humanistic education that taught me to consider the whole person, body and soul, not just the disease. I believe in the power of listening, talking and comforting.  The healing process starts right then!
